Si sus niveles de azúcar en la sangre son más elevados de lo normal, ocurre que el páncreas no produce insulina, entonces usted tiene diabetes.
Como paciente debe tener ciertos cuidados especiales para que mantener una buena calidad de vida.
Debe saber que hay tres tipos de diabetes: la tipo 1, que afecta principalmente a jóvenes adultos y niños y se presenta cuando el organismo deja de producir la insulina que necesita.
La tipo 2 (la más común), que es cuando no se produce suficiente insulina, o bien, el organismo no responde a sus efectos; y tercera, la diabetes gestacional, que se presenta durante el embarazo.

Especialistas recomiendan cuatro cuidados para las personas que tienen diabetes: Alimentación, actividad física, monitoreo y medicamentos.
