Reynosa, Tam.-
4. Acudir a bañarse con abundante agua y jabón.

Routines that are here to stay

Reynosa, Tam.-
People remember Melvin Udall in their home sink taking out a new hand soap, using it, and immediately throwing it away.
Although this measure of the grumpy man represented by Jack Nicholson in “Best Impossible” (As Good as it Gets, 1997) seemed to be somewhat exaggerated 23 years ago, there are new routines that came to stay with the appearance of the Covid-19.
Now the washing of hands with soap and water is spread by authorities of the Ministry of Health and it is not as simple as it seems: they include the palm, back, knuckles, fingers, nail edge, and wrist.
Dry your hands with a clean towel or disposable paper. This activity is done before trying foods such as when leaving the bathroom or on the way home. Specialized sites stress that you should wash your hands after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
That is why the image of obsessive-compulsive in the cleaning of Melvin Udall appears and will remain within the “new normal” established by the epidemiological traffic light in Mexico.
“Use face masks and gloves when leaving the house, frequently wash your hands with soap and water, or using disinfectants. Clean common areas with some frequency using antibacterial and antiviral agents, as well as stripping footwear and, sometimes, clothing when returning home, when people require going to public places, among others”, Dr. Carlos Ramírez Martínez explained to Punto U.
The director of Project Development of the Sustainability Secretariat of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) referred to the concept of biosecurity that consists of the implementation of preventive measures to reduce the expression of risks, such as diseases “or prevent its spread if these risks manage to be expressed”.
The 7 routines to follow:
- When you get home, step on a sanitizing mat to leave your shoes at the entrance of the house.
- Leave objects near the entrance such as a cell phone, backpack or bag, keys, and money to disinfect them with a disinfecting solution.
- Take off clothing and a cloth mouthpiece to take to wash.
4. Go to bathe with plenty of soap and water. - Clean and disinfect common use areas of the home.
- Avoid lying down with the clothes that were used when going out.
- Have a small bottle of antibacterial gel on hand, or wash your hands regularly.
